On Zanzibar’s east coast.
Xanadu lies in Dongwe, on the quiet south-east coast of Zanzibar, facing the sunrise. Kite spots Paje and Jambiani are just to the south; Stone Town is about an hour’s drive.

- From Dar es Salaam Airport by helicopter — about 40 minutes

What does the all-inclusive rate cover?
Accommodation in a private villa; all meals and snacks and beverages from the all-inclusive menu (soft drinks, local beers, spirits, house wines) from 2 pm on arrival day until 11 am on departure day — lunch on departure day is not included; a private butler throughout your stay; sea kayaking, snorkelling and SUP boarding from Xanadu’s beach.
Are the pools heated?
Each villa has at least one private plunge pool. The pools are unheated — ideal to cool off just six degrees south of the equator.
Can we book two villas together?
Yes: Korongo pairs perfectly with neighbouring Kimwondo for parties requiring three bedrooms, and Umande can be booked together with Alfajiri.
